I'm doing a project for school about how Greek terms are often still used today.  One of those terms is "Adidas."  I've managed to research all of the other topics and find answers, but this one I can find no info on.  Can someone help me please :)  And if you have the information about the myth, please tell me.|||u are mixing up adidas   with nike . nike company    are references to  athena -nike the  goddess of victory(nike is one of athena's  persona  the  parthenon   has  2 temples one errected  to athena -nike) its a common mistunderstanding of greek myth actually   
 for more greek terms  used today( side note  adidas is a acronym  for all day i dream about soccer or sports)
 the perseid  meteor shower in august is named for  perseus and his birth by zeus and danae in form of a golden shower
the  exclamatory  saying  holy moly! is   reference to a  sacred herb  given to  odysseus to make him immune to   circes magic which turned his men into pigs   hermes  gave him the herb  called mole or moly ( sounds  like mo lee)
the aegean sea is named for aegeus the father of theseus  who upon failign to raise the right flag aegeus  flung himself into the sea carryign his name   thinkign hsi son was slain by the minotaur
the olympics  are  named for the  mountain olympus where the gods lived
achilles heel which refers to a  person's weakness  is   a saying  stemmign from where paris  shot achille's thew hero in his heel his one weak spot
ajax is a cleaning solvent  for bathtubs   named for ajax  agreek hero  at troy much liek achilles
the andromeda  nebula is named for andromeda the   wife of perseus  , having been saved by him  from a sea serpent
various moon of jupiter a bunch of jupters  moons are named for greek mythological figures   including variosu lovers fo  zeus europa,leda,callisto. pasiphae the mortal mother of the  minotaur( half bull half man) and ganymede     the  gay lover fo zeus ( he swung both ways)ganymede was   used fto demote a gay relationship throughout history as well, it has  however died out.
apollo missions were of course anmed for apollo greek god of archery and prophecy, music  and the twin fo artemis 
the word atlas  referring to maps   is from   the  greek hero atlas who holds up the sky
the cerberus  network and the organization in the game mass effect  2  is named for the three headed dog that gaurds the underworld
the constellation gemini is  the representation of helon's twin bothers the dioscuri  polydeueces and castor
the term panic refers to the  god pan pan  using his  conch horn  would strike  fear and chaos into his enemies   thus our term  panic - which means  fear
these are just soem off the top of my head|||You might be thinking of Nike, who was a Greek god of Victory. I looked for Adidas and there is no god. The god that is close to that is Adonis.|||Tiamat is right
