How to clean white Adidas Slider sandals?

Hey I have a pair of the white adidas sliders that are like sandals, but they have gotten dirt spots and stuff on them. So, anyone know how to make them whiter again? Would putting them in the washing machine help (would I use detergent?) or would that ruin them? They have black adidas stripes so I cant use bleach.|||You could just save all the struggle cleaning them, and buy a new pair.
